Man From Michael - Heart Of Glue

A single by four blokes from Merseyside dropped through my door, but it wasn’t by the long established Beatles, it was actually a release from newcomers Man From Michael.

Man From Michael are a family band who appear to put their heart and soul into their music. ‘Heart Of Glue’ is a joy to listen to, it has a bit of a sixties vibe, which makes it standout from a lot of other songs being released at the moment. While their musical performance is good, the real strength of the track is in frontman Joe McDonnell’s voice.

‘Heart Of Glue’ is a well structured and likeable number, and the back up vocals in the chorus really boost the song. It’s the sort of song that becomes instantly lodged in your head, and after listening to it you’ll find yourself singing or humming the track all day. B-Side ‘Assistance’ is equally as good, the sixties vibe is much stronger on this number, and it gives it a lovely retro sound.

If I get one impression from ‘Heart Of Glue’ it’s that these four wear their hearts on their sleeves and their not afraid to show it, and the result of that is a couple cracking tunes.
