Callel • Among Other Things

Born on opposite sides of the world and bought together by a familiar love of music. The four members of Callel are passionate musicians who want to provide the world with music that is fresh and unique and has something that differs from all the other artists breaking into the industry.

This Cd may only contain three tracks, but this is more than enough to convince an intent listener that there is something different about this band. Unlike many artists, Callel do not focus on hard guitars and intense rhythms to bring in the fans. They focus a little more on the subtle sounds of fresh and innovative waves.

‘Poison Arrow’ is the type of track I could imagine myself listening to while driving on the open road in the middle of nowhere and everywhere, sun beaming, green grass and passing a few cows and sheep along the way. Its gentle indie guitars and catchy beat make me feel like anything is possible. ‘Everyday Has Its Dog’ is a little faster paced with some backing electric guitars. ‘Among Other Things’ has an acoustic guitar and is more of a reminiscent track, reminding you of your childhood days sitting in your tree house.

The vocals throughout these three tracks are calm and collected and exactly what I would expect and want to coincide with the music. If this is the style that Callel are looking into seeping into our souls then I for one look forward to more.
