Bloody great stuff.

Like Queens Of The Stone Age ‘No One Knows’ if it was played by the cast of the Carry On films, the introduction to ‘Bad Blood’ by Supergrass showcases all the best elements of the band. The filthy glam-tastic side that makes everyone want to clap along is perfectly balanced by a slight feel of this is not a band playing it entirely straight and its hard to escape the sense of fun that falls from the song and that’s all before the vocals even kick in. It’s hard to argue with an introduction like that and if anything, it merely confirms that Supergrass are back!

The chorus is a screaming shouter with a thumping backing that is guaranteed to add to the excitement of whatever festival the band turns up at this summer!

Its not as poppy as the hits that are still readily associated with the abnd but that was then, this is now and those who want to reclaim those days are better off heading to a Shed Seven or Kula Shaker reunion show with the other anorak wearing, Hooch drinking buffoons. Supergrass have moved on quite a bit, whether their audience or the general public will accept it or agree to it is an entirely different matter but when the singles are of this nature, who cares, it may not be on Radio 1 too much but that’s hardly the beacon of quality that it used to be either!

Hoo ha, 1-0 to the diamond geezers!
