Instrumental industrial mayhem.

‘Pardon Garcon’ is a pretty good song until the vocals kick in. Up until that point, it gives you the impression that it is slight parody but more than capable of filling a dance floor. With a decent remix or two in tow, this track definitely had plenty of potential and then we get the vocals. Taking it from possibly a parody to way past the pastiche and into disappointing. The bored and listless delivery match with the generic lyrics and place this song firmly in the middle of nowhere with all the other tracks that will fade out and go nowhere. If you can get hold of an instrumental listen then go right ahead as it will be infinitely more enjoyable than the proper release.

The lead track is backed by ‘French Girls Play Guitar’, which is a bold statement and certainly not the usual stereotype of French ladies. This is a good thing as there should be a move to diversify from lazy and tired cultural clichés, so why not promote the idea that French ladies strap on a six-string and make beautiful music.

This track is a full instrumental and again, it is the instrumental that works best for Autokratz. They offer up a sound that is being peddled by many at the moment but they do it well and certainly aren’t inferior compared to anyone else around. If only they would stick to instrumentals or get a proper vocalist in, they could do much better form themselves. As it stands, its hard to see them being recognised for this sort of release.
