Perceptive punk pop

Like indie? Got half a brain? Appreciate a bit of wit in your song writing? Then look no further than ‘Fear Of Opening My Mouth’ by Auckland quartet Collapsing Cites.

Here are a young band with old souls • cynical, accepting and unbelievably perceptive ‘Fear Of Opening My Mouth’ could be one of the most profound (and entertaining) singles of 2008. It’s funny, it’s true and it absolutely rocks in every way you’d expect of an indie disco dancefloor filler. Think of them as being a bit like Interpol with the brooms were removed from their arses and you’ll have a rough idea of the kind of sound Collapsing Cities make. B side ‘All Your Friends Are Rats’ is almost as good as the single itself and will raise a smile for anyone who has ever had the displeasure of spending time with a partners indescribably awful friends.

Well done . . . more soon please?
