Feeder have been around for an incredible sixteen years, a magnificent feat in today’s music industry dominated by one it wonders and unfulfilled potential that record labels then wash their hands of. We Are the People is the first extract from their sixth studio album Silent Cry, and signals a return to what Feeder does best - rock.
Given the somewhat flowery nature of recent Feeder singles, the thundering opening to this track instantly makes you sit up and think hold on, this is more like it. The melodic chorus is a slow moving juggernaut, guitar powering through everything in its path while Grant’s liquid vocals glide above.
While this may not appear to be an instant hit in the ilk of Buck Rogers et al, it is a return to form that will certainly please loyal Feeder followers. Welcome back boys, you have been missed.
