Colourful Life Single

Remember that joyous feeling when the clock struck 3.20, the last of those mind numbingly terrifying exams is over and school is out for summer. Of course you do, and so do Cajun Dance Party. Whilst their summer will be spent mostly in the studio working on another album they at least empathise with such a gleeful occasion. True to the title, Colourful Life is a timely exhibit of exhilarating feel good pop that brightens the day despite the miserable clouds outside your window.

The production from Bernard Butler goes a long way towards the songs clarity; from the intricate percussive elements to Blumberg’s voice straining above all else. With such ramshackle poetic flair at show this is maybe what a clean, content and coherent Pete Doherty would sound like. Nevertheless, for a band that are just completing their A-levels they seem to find their way around such energetic, carefree melodies with consummate ease.

If there is any justice left in the world then the sun will shine when Cajun Dance Party arrive at a festival near you.
