Nervous
Sometimes it is hard to write reviews, just because what you are listening to makes no impact what so ever. I am not going to say that this is a shit song or that it played badly or even recorded badly, because that wouldn’t be true. ”Nervous” just lacks personality. There is so much of this kind of acoustic indie around and I struggle to find the words to describe it, maybe grey? Dull? Or uninteresting? These people obviously have talent, they can play their instruments and they can sing in tune, but that does not mean that they can write a good tune. Like a poor man’s Simon and Garfunkel across with the Beautiful south, they have not quite deserved the right to fill your listening space. In fact if I am going to use band comparisons then the lists are endless, The Kooks, The Feeling etc. As I write I realise, how does the song go? I’ve forgotten it already.
