Inventive distortion.

Forever inventive and quirky, the Breeders go all minimal on this Steve Albini produced track which has his trademark live, open sound and heavy drums. This is a very short track and at just over two minutes it does what a single should • leaves you wanting more and makes you want to hear the rest of the album. The drums are so heavy and gloriously distorted on this tune (aptly titled “Bang On”) that they almost drown out everything else, except perhaps for Kim Deal’s fuzzy vocals. However, if that worries you, there is a fun little catchy riff lurking underneath and the melody is relentlessly memorable, so much so, it’s impossible to get out of your head for days afterward. As always, a class act.
