Bringing about a tale of one young teenagers obsession with a member of the opposite sex, the recent release ‘Pictures Of Me’ from Officer Kicks is as clingy as this young girls seems to be with the photographs.
Taken from the bands debut album ‘The Six Grand Plot’, this track opens with a rumble of a riff and transforms in to an incredibly infections tune. Music is excellent, vocals are pure and simple and really support the tune well but the most impressive and precious part has to be the way in which the lyrics flow off your tongue. The verses are short, simple and spoken as if talking to another individual, but it’s the chorus “You’re sweet seventeen you're the queen of the scene/Could have a million other lovers but you carry round pictures of me” that tugs at your insides.
A song that is going to be haunting you days after you heard it.
