Light Metal just got brighter

Light metal or heavy rock? It's always difficult to slide a band into one or the other catagory, and there's plenty of bands that join the two together. Personally I prefer the former of the two, but "My Life in the Making" are sitting the latter but have added interesting metal twists to their music.

It's worrying to see bands like Keane, The Killers and Kasabian dominating the charts at the moment while My Life in the Making aren't. In fact, it's illogical, irritating and downright wrong. "Contemplating Concepts of Forever" reminds the listener of Kasabian but it has one thing that their album missed -the element of interest! Kasabian whine all over dull chords but Ken Graham sings over professional guitar work. "Anamnesis" and "Time On Our Side" are two melodic tracks that elevate the band far beyond their peers.

The band have a very wide potential fanbase as well - aside from the Light rock fans lapping it up, I can see some prog metal heads giving this a spin at least once - Into Eternity fans need to take special note: My Life in the Making have arrived, put up your hands.
