Dark Sparks - We Are Just Flies
Following up last years impressive single 'Blood Petrol Fire', Dark Skies return with an equally enjoyable tune with 'We Are Just Flies'. Things have changed a fair bit in the last 12 months for the midlands band, not only with exchanging drummers and adding a guitarist but they have also decided to go it alone, free from label pressure, for a spell and let all releases be available free to download.
'We Are Just Flies' starts slowly with the guitar riff giving a hint that the song is about to explode into life, which just after 50 seconds it does exactly that. Leigh Greenwood’s vocals show true class with a complete mix of styles and the added guitar frees up the lead guitar to let loose, which all creates a pretty good indie rock tune that finishes all too soon on the three minute mark.
In the current financial climate it is likely more bands will be offering free songs to download, it is hard to imagine many being as good as this offering. Thanks for the free gift Dark Sparks.
