Ten City Nation and The Shills - Split single release
Underground institution R*E*P*E*A*T records are releasing the next instalment in their set of Split seven inch vinyl singles.
This one has songs by two artists. First up is The Shills, a bunch of guys who have been friends since school that bring a style of music combining elements of post-punk with pop. Their song ‘Gunshot’ packs together some bouncy rhythms with some classic rock and roll guitars. The other artist on this single is Ten City Nation. Hailing form Bury St. Edmunds, these guys give us two tracks. The first, ‘Flashing Lights’ has a mystifying set of melodic guitars and a bass line to match. The second track ‘Silent Disco’ has a lighter feel to it; a much friendlier dance touch compared to the previous song and is probably a little more enjoyable.
If you are as intrigued by these two bands as much as I am, look out for more material in the future.
