Intelligent Rock
Lilygun release their second single ‘Conversations’ following up the highly impressive debut ‘Diamonds’ with yet more imaginative, intelligent rocking music. The variation of styles on the latest release just makes it a joy to listen to and at just under five minutes long, you are still begging for more. Anna-Christina vocal talents are a real pleasure to listen to, matching the music style changes perfectly. As is the guitar solo three minutes in, timed perfectly to launch the remaining two minutes into a full on rocking song, where Piranha, the other main stay of Lilygun, is let loose on his bass.
Not many artists manage to produce something as accomplished as ‘Conversations’ and that is including the legendary bands too. Let’s hope there is a lot more to come from this London band, two songs released so far is not enough, bands like this deserve to have all the backing possible. With some successful gigs already in the capital and some more dates between now and the end of the year, surely 2010 will see Lilygun grow in to bigger and better things.
