Lost on Campus - In Pursuit of Courage

Stamford singer-songwriter Rob Lynch, aka Lost On Campus is a man of many talents and nothing demonstrates this more than his new record ‘In Pursuit of Courage’.

Set on an acoustic guitar foundation, this man creates mellow acoustica with punchy pop hooks, upbeat melodies and wonderful percussion. There are plenty of shakers, small chimes and some slight drumming; there is also an electric guitar riff on ‘Whisky’ and clapping. The strangest and most intriguing of tunes is the closing number ‘The Party Never Dies’ as there sounds to be some electronic moments in the last minute. With the help of a laptop this lad has created some interesting tunes.

Lynch has an honest writing ability and is able to produce lyrics that are not only catchy but also sentimental and emotional. The vocals are presented beautifully and can sit alongside the music nicely. The harmonies are particularly noteworthy. At times they are layered, then on ‘Coastlines’ there are two backing harmonies mixed with the dominant voice, which suits the tracks perfectly.

Lost on Campus is going to be shooting for the stars after the release of this record. To get a better taste of what is to come, head over to his myspace.
