Genre defying

To The Bones open their EP with title track 'Astral Magic'; filled with layered group vocals and frantic guitars it feels remarkably like a heavy indie track and offers no clue as to just how diverse the EP is going to be.

Relentlessly driving guitars and throbbing beats greet you from the start of 'YHF'. This is followed by a blend of sounds with indie styled vocals that bark in the verse contrasting to the vocals that are smoother with an other worldly twist during the chorus. From start to end, To The Bones have crafted an interesting song that is filled with motion and energy and a very slight hint of evil to round out the sound.

The EP offers two more tracks that reinforce the oddity that is To The Bones. 'Monster' starts with a wail of guitars topped by creepy bell like notes, setting the scene for a song that is dark and evil, befitting it's title. 'Superock' continues the evil trend; muted vocals throw the focus onto the guitars in the verses which are followed by pounding choruses that are simply barked at you; they slam you with relentless guitar riffs and deep beats creating an exhausting, but intreguing experience.

To The Bones defy classification. There are distinct indie sensibilities in every song, the structures, vocals and melodies just scream that this is an indie track. But then they top it with deep dark depths of sounds and screamed lyrics that are metal as fuck. Throw in some guitars and beats that are pure hard rock - metal indie hard rock, doesn't sound quite right does it? I suggest you get hold of their single 'YHF' and experience it for yourself.
