Bio In 1976, a time whereby fashion was bold and flamboyant, a chubby little fellow called James came kicking and screaming into the world. Living deep in the heart of rural Wiltshire, with The Waltons on one side and the family Ingles in a little house up on the prairie on the other, Jim spent too much time on his own. He tried to live like Huckleberry Finn, but found that his feet hurt too much and that the sewage filled stream was unlike the mighty raging waters of the Mississippi. His ambition fell somewhere between moonshining in a 1969 Dodge Charger, committing tomfoolery in a 1976 black Trans Am, or joining a convoy in a large black 1977 Mack Truck…

Whilst musically his dad’s Country & Western, and Rock’N’Roll LP’s introduced to him to unpopular music, it is this grounding that shapes what he listens to today. Via Shakin’ Stevens, Wham and Adam Ant, Jim then discovered the Glam Rock delights of Poison, Motley Crue, Aerosmith etc. and also 70’s music in early-Alice Cooper and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Then when messers Cobain and Vedder successfully got all of his favourite bands dropped by their record labels seemingly overnight, Jim became disillusioned with rock, turning instead to Beastie Boys, Insane Clown Posse and gangster rap. If nothing else this made him cut is long curly hair short, even if he did now look like he was a failed member of a boy-band…

Jim’s achievements lie in winning ‘The Spirit Of Judo’ in 1983, his design of a ‘dog-walking machine’ being published in a text book in 1987, and making his parents endure a hour play whereby he was a soldier whom only had one word to utter in that same year. Any later achievements are few and far between but his CV proclaims his strong ability at hiding, and also shaking hands.

Apparently Jim can play the drums, although as he was self-taught chances are that this is in fact a lie. He can play ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ on the guitar and boasts that he learnt it in less than a minute. This is even more amusing as he now likes Punk Rock, although now that he has peaked the mountain of life, he has also found that Folk/Rock is rather more appealing, and appreciates older bands like The Beach Boys and The Kinks even more.

He met and coerced Kara into marrying him in Las Vegas in 2005, and they had their first child, Leena Rae in 2008. Always up for a challenge, they are now expecting their second child in 2010.

Always a fan of comedy rock, Jim finds most things funny and whilst he borders on ADD, most conclude it’s down to the copious amounts of strong coffee that he favours. If he was sedated then many people would be happy…
