MuchMusic described it perfectly, “A Brantford, Ontario punk band just giv’ner!!”

It’s exactly what the boys in YOUTHINASIA have been doing for the last 4 years. The spontaneity and aggression of their highly polished stage show has been compared to “A hijacking that has forced the audience into a panic...terrified, yet excited…a perfect balance of song and performance.” However, it is really their captured sound that allows the listener to appreciate the subtle genius the band expresses as songwriters and musicians.

Most recently, YOUTHINASIA has overshadowed their debut full-length, “High Class, Low Standards”, with the release of their six-song recording entitled “E.P.”

Recorded by Canada’s Justin Koop, who has produced projects for Billy Talent and Finger Eleven amongst others, the “E.P.” has garnered the attention of punk drummer/producer Darrin Pfeiffer of the L.A. band Goldfinger, as well as ex-Guns n’ Roses manager, Bill Hardie, of the Sanctuary Group.

The songs on “E.P.” deal with a variety of issues and are guaranteed to please both fans and critics alike. “Crossing Over” portrays the story of a woman who has managed to escape domestic abuse and has moved on to prosper independently, while the song, “The Solution” takes a cynical look at the state of popular music today. “The songs have real attitude on this CD. We spent a lot of time on the lyrics and melodies to get it just right,” says vocalist Jarvis.

Their first video for the opening track “Jimmy Beaner” was awarded to the band by the well-known film and production school, Trebas Institute. A panel of Trebas judges selected the band from a number of entries vying for the privilege. The video is currently being edited.

For the rest of 2004, the band plans to tour extensively making up the bulk of the 100+ shows they play each year, including dates on the 2004 Van’s Warped Tour. Obtained by the help of Darrin Pfeiffer, the Warped dates will be YOUTHINASIA’s second Warped Tour invite in the last two years.

Relentlessly pushing forward, the band is looking towards the Fall to pre-produce their second full-length album. With eight brand new songs near completion, and many more to come, the band is excited to hit the studio.

YOUTHINASIA has nothing less than great expectations for themselves as a band, as well as individuals. They believe in following do-it-yourself values. By doing so, they feel that they will be able to better control the direction of their band, and therefore, maintain a tight, long lasting relationship between themselves, the fans, and most importantly, their music.
