A couple of things you should know about Terror: the five men in the band aren't a pack of weekend warriors or opportunistic careerists. These guys are LIFERS in every sense of the word. And Terror isn't just a "band", but a force of nature: one that will not be ignored.

There are no gimmicks, no fashionable looks, and no hooky choruses to be found with Terror. They deliver nothing but a straight-forward intensity that looks backward for inspiration, forward for motivation and doesn't need to strive to be "real"; it just is.

Hardcore isn't just a style of music nor a fixation on any kind of "look" to Terror: it's a way of life, a lifestyle, an attitude, and an interwoven network of brothers, sisters and supporters. Terror's sound is brutal, stripped-down, uncompromising and as undeniably real as the hand-to-mouth, paycheck-to-paycheck existence that has birthed, nurtured and fueled so many important subcultures over the years, including this one.

There is no band in 2005 that more clearly defines the greater ethos of what "hardcore" truly means to its lifelong adherents than Terror.

Last fall's aptly titled masterpiece of sweat-soaked stomp "One With The Underdogs" and it's seminal (and soon to be as well known) predecessor "Lowest Of The Low" have made believers across the globe, thanks equally to the genuine power transmitted by the songs and the California band's blue-collar work ethic approach to playing shows.

With their appearances at major festivals in the US and Europe, regular touring (including last year's "MADE" tour and this year's "Sounds Of The Underground") across North America and overseas, Terror has led the resurgence of old-school belief and bloodthirsty passion within the scene recently chronicled by Alternative Press magazine.

Scott Vogel's throaty bombast has been a signature for many important bands for more than a decade, drawing in spirt from scene kingpins like Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags and Sick Of It All at his voice propelled the likes of Slugest, Despair and Buried Alive.

Undaunted by the fragmentation of former outfits nor a set of bad hands dealt by life. Reenergized by a move from his native Buffalo to the other side of the country, Vogel's determination and drive has never been more fully-realized than in Terror, a group whose members - each of them - could fuel a band on their own with the strength of their own convictions and the power of their formidable presence in the live setting.

Hardcore has lived and breathed in many people and bands, through plenty of fads and trends, and it will continue to outlast whatever trials are coming its way. Why? Because there has always been a band to fly the flag for its true spirit. Today that band is Terror.
