Gold Cash Gold has raised quite a ruckus amongst Detroit's musical elite since forming in the early months of 2002. Within a few weeks of forming, they were turning heads with their demos and intense live performances. Gold Cash Gold do not wear their many influences on their sleeves (whether Glam, Hip Hop, Punk, Reggae, or Electro). One of Detroit's many "used-to-be-in-a-big-band" has-beens has described them as "what would've happened if Queen had gone down after Hip-Hop". Be that as it may, the power of their songs and melodies combine to make Gold Cash Gold the band to watch in Detroit.
Their Debut release "Paradise Pawned" (Times Beach Records) was recorded over a period of two particularly rainy weeks in June 2003.
Gold Cash Gold have all the makings of a legendary band: hooks, looks, songs, and sonics; melodies and arrangements that can serve as a soundtrack for any given moment; and an unforgettable live performance. Gold Cash Gold is quickly setting a new standard for Rock and Roll.
