Biography

Nebula's journey into the cosmos began in 1997, when vocalist/guitarist
Eddie Glass and drummer Ruben Romano founded the group after leaving
desert rock pioneers Fu Manchu. At first, Scott Reeder (ex-Kyuss/The
Obsessed) was on board to play bass, but by the time the band entered the
studio to record its debut - the 1998 EP Let It Burn - another Fu Manchu
alumnus, Mark Abshire, had assumed bass duties. The following year saw the
band's debut full-length, the Jack Endino-produced To The Center, as well
as a second EP, Sun Creature. The band immediately earned a reputation as
strong live performers through early tours with the likes of Mudhoney,
Nashville Pussy, Unida, The Atomic Bitchwax, Zen Guerilla, The
Hellacopters and Orange Goblin, among others.

2001 brought the release of the band's second full-length, Charged. Like
To The Center, it surfaced on Seattle's legendary Sub Pop Records, but
unlike its predecessor - which saw the band team with Endino, producer of
landmark albums by Nirvana and Soundgarden - Charged saw Nebula
collaborate with John Agnello (Clutch, Mark Lanegan). Extensive touring
again followed, this time with such rock heavyweights as Corrosion of
Conformity, Zeke and Clutch.

While 2002 brought additional touring, as well as the release of Dos EPs
(which culled material from Sun Creature and a third mini-album, a split
with Sweden's Lowrider), it wasn't until 2003 that Nebula delivered a true
follow-up, Atomic Ritual. Produced by Chris Goss (Queens of the Stone Age,
Stone Temple Pilots) - earned mainstream acclaim from the likes of Blender
("heavier than heaven"), Entertainment Weekly ("If you're jonesing for a
fix of heavy rock at its least pretentious, you can't do much better than
this") and Magnet ("more fun than watching a Hell's Angels pool-cue
assault in a biker bar"). True to form, the band returned to the road for
several nationwide tours with artists as diverse as Mastodon, The
Bellrays, Local H and Clutch.

Produced by Daniel Rey (Ramones, Misfits, L7) and mastered by Howie
Weinberg (Mars Volta, Sonic Youth, Franz Ferdinand), and recorded mostly
at Hollywood Sound Recorders (Danzig, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili
Peppers), 'Apollo' sees the addition of new bassist Tom Davies. Since
finishing basic tracks, the band has already done one nationwide tour
(including a showcase at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City), as well
as high-profile hometown gigs at ESPN's X-Games and the annual Sunset
Junction festival, the latter alongside New York Dolls, Burning Brides and
Eagles of Death Metal. Expect continued touring throughout 2006.

Combining the combustibility of the sun with the mysticism of the moon,
Apollo lives up to its name, no matter your preferred definition, and
reaffirms Nebula's reputation as one of rock's brightest stars - in this
galaxy or any other. read less
