Biography

It all started back in the summer of 2002 when four very young energetic mates - two brothers Conor & Adam McKee, their cousin, Conall McKee, and mate, Philip Hanna - decided they were going to shake the music scene up. So they started rehearsing in Conor & Adam?s garage only to shake the neighbours roofs off. Within two months, they had enough songs to do their first gig in the local Arts Centre where they not only shocked their parents, but also took the house down and launched their young careers. Their unique "Shockrock" approach easily crosses the generational divide, pleasing the mature punter every bit as much as the bands own peers. This has been obvious in gigs such as Belfast?s Rosetta Bar, Katy Daly?s (Distortion Project), Derry?s Nerve Centre and the first live internet broadcast showcasing local rock bands from the Front Page in Belfast. Acidtone recently got the biggest break of their young career when they won the finals of the 2004 Wella Shockwaves Unsigned Music Competition in Dublin?s Vicar Street. They had beaten off stiff competition from 600 other bands from all over Ireland to win the regional heats and earn a place in the final. Having been declared the overall winners with their blistering high-energy performance, their success now brings them an all-important shot at a record deal and International stardom ? and this is only the opening chapter!
