Faceshift emerges from the ashes of Eternal Oath
While writing new material for the follow up album to “Wither” from 2005 , the members of Stockholm based death metal band Eternal Oath began realizing that all was not well. It soon became obvious that hardly anyone in the band was interested in making yet another death metal album. Therefore, in early 2007, the band announced that they split up. This break up, however, turned out to be very brief indeed. “On a whim”, explained the members of Faceshift, “we decided to try some of the stuff we´d begun writing for the next Eternal Oath album with a friend of ours called Timo, who is a kick-ass singer. At that first rehersal, keyboard player Stefan also returned to the drums, which is his main instrument.” Right then and there, the guys knew they were on to something awesome.

With new life and new power breathed into the songs, the band was reborn as FACESHIFT and the whole “Reconcile” album was written in a matter of days. It was recorded in the spring of 2007 at Offbeat Studios and is set for an autumn release. A powerful beast of an album, “Reconcile” features trademark muscle riffs and signature guitar harmonies that pay tribute to the band´s early days, while incorporating vocals on an entirely new level. The melodic/harmonic element goes hand in hand with the elements power and aggression throughout the whole album. This time around, songwriting duties have also been much more evenly spread, with all members contributing musically as well as lyrically .
