Biography

Amy Winehouse grew up in North London. In her childhood she was heavily influenced by Sarah Vaughn and Dinah Washington and then in later years Mos Def/Talib Kweli and Erykah Badu and more reggae influences. Thus creating her unique jazz/soul singing with her lyrics being about 'songs of Gucci bags, diesel underwear, high heels, breast implants, weed after school and cheating airhead honeys'. She writes about her world and what she's interested in rather than songs of yesteryear.
