Hailing from the working class city of Stoke-On-Trent where any lad worth his salt dreams about being a footballer or rock star comes a group of five young men with a vision. This vision is to defy any preconceptions of what a modern rock band should be and prove that a group that have an average age of nineteen years can rock twice as hard as their counterparts. This band is Agent Blue.

Meeting by living in the same neighbourhood or by going to the same school, the band came together in 2001 and have had little time to look back. In 2002 with a couple of songs and a few gigs under their belts our five unlikely lads Agent Blue blagged free demo time in a local studio for their first ever recordings. The results fell into the hands of the legendary Fierce Panda label who instantly decided to release the bands’ debut single, ‘Snowhill’.

Only six gigs after their first pub gig the band had heads turning at the NME and had found a fan in Radio One’s Steve Lamacq who simply declared: “that’s great!”
After six months of intense live performances that included being banned from London’s Bull and Gate Agent Blue signed a six-album deal with Universal/Island Records and all this with Calum Murphy borrowing a bass off his manager.

Armed with new equipment and some infectious tunes the band retired to Jacob’s Studios in Surrey and London’s Eden Studio with producer Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters) where the band set about recording their debut album titled ‘A Stolen Honda Vision’. The first offering from the album came in the form of 2004’s ‘Sex, Drug And Rocks Through Your Window’. Released on the 17th May the single won much critical acclaim and gained the band coverage on MTV2, NME charts, Scuzz, Xfm and Radio 1.

Following support slots with among others 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster the Stoke quintet built on their foundations and released the follow up single ‘Something Else’ on August 9th. In support of this single Agent Blue embarked on a large jaunt of the UK playing any venue that could handle the bands intense and energetic stage presence. The single went in at #59, was Kerrang! Magazine’s ‘Single of the Week’, landed them television and radio coverage all at the same time as their incendiary performance at Carling Weekend Reading and Leeds festival.

Not content with taking timeout Agent Blue release ‘Crossbreed’ on October 25th and took to the road again in support the awesome yourcodenameis:milo. With support slots with industry favourites 22-20’s and Kasabian the band follow the release of this single by joining The Others on the road as their main support. It looks like 2005 could be Agent Blues’ year as they prepare to unleash their highly anticipated debut album, ‘A Stolen Honda Vision’ in February.

Can dreams come true? We’ll let you be the judge.
