Biography

SomaHigh are a rock band from the South Coast. Their name comes from Aldous Huxley's classic sci-fi novel Brave New World, in which the feel-good drug of choice goes by the name of soma. Their ambitious sophomore EP titled 'Something About You' fashions modern melodic punk rock, mixed with their own brand of pop-tastic groove.

SomaHigh have built a huge local following and regularly sell out shows in their home town of Southampton. Previous support slots with Razorlight, Cage the Elephant, The Baddies and Supergrass's 'Hot Rats' have spread the word further afield.

Their debut EP titled 'Lo Fat', released in 2009, got an excited response from the rock media, with radio support coming from Kerrang, XFM and Total Rock. Reviewers noted SomaHigh's enthusiasm for experimentation, frantic pace changes and a penchant for infectious singalong choruses.

Sean Strugnell, vocalist, song writer and beguiling frontman, reflects on his thoughts and emotions, love and modern life. The infusion of bassist Leon Azor's heavy flowing groove with drummer Ryan Smith's mesmeric beats and rolls brings energy and presence, whilst keyboardist Paul Wolf delivers atmospheric synth and powerful keys.
