A Bit Lost
‘Lose You’ is pretty far removed from Peaches usual tracks in several ways; firstly, it’s a cool and collected electro track and secondly, the lyrics are tame enough to play on the radio with not a hint of satire, sexuality or cheek! It’s still an interesting dance track though; produced by Simian Mobile Disco, it hooks the listener in with twinkling electronics and glassy vocals.
The frustrating thing is that this could be any musician. Peaches is known for her charisma and the press release even emphasises her usual humour but this track is simply devoid of any personality: Peaches plays ice queen. ‘Lose You’ may make it onto a few nightclub floors but you’re unlikely to even remember that it’s sung by Peaches. With a title like ‘I Feel Cream’, it sounds like the rest of Peaches’ album will have a big more spunk; let’s hope so!
