Electro pop
After getting over the shock that Argon 40 wasn’t the moniker of a metal band we discover that they are in fact electro/indie/pop duo from New York. This double ‘A’ side single is a very sweet jaunt into their world of keyboards and half whispered, floaty female vocals. While these two tunes have a kind of ethereal swirling quality they are not what you would call enthralling as they are almost frustratingly slow in pace and very minimal, especially what appears to be an anaemic cover of Tom Petty’s classic tune ‘Free Fallin’ which they don’t really do enough with to make it worthwhile it just floats in meanders about and floats off again. Average and a little dull electro pop which needs a bit more bite to be memorable and make you come back for more.
