Just in case you have been living under a rock, the legends that are Pearl Jam have returned and release their debut single ‘The Fixer’ off the soon to be released ninth studio album ‘Backspacer’.
Despite one of my friends calling Pearl Jam “sell outs” for having produced a rare video for this single, it is good to see the band back. ‘The Fixer’ itself is certainly not their greatest effort and the production fails to capture the raw energy of their live shows but it is still a highly charged, catchy little number none the less and proves that the band still has some magic about them that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
It is very easy to crave for bands to stay how they were back in the day but it was just over 18 years ago the world was introduced to debut album ‘Ten’. However, I just wish ‘The Fixer’ was a little less Foo Fighters meets Shania Twain.
