The Molotovs
After the success of their recent single, the vibrant and melodic ‘Come To Grief’, The Molotovs prove they are no one hit wonders with their debut mini album ‘And The Heads Did Roll’.
As well as the first single, there are five other melodious tracks on this CD. There is the upbeat and moderately content ‘In Conversation’; the intense sharpness of ‘City’s Guest’ and the brass influenced jazzy number ‘Flowers’, which stands out against the others for being different. Then there is the consistent and repetitive yet distinctive rhythms to ‘Far Cry From Love’ and lastly the slower melodies of ‘One Up On Me’, which hold some sort of wind instrument sounds. Within the twenty minutes of this release, the band generates some uplifting moments as well as some a little darker while projecting honest lyrics.
The ‘Come To Grief’ single release was the start; the release of the album sees them continue on an upward path, what comes next will surely seal the fate for these five lads.
