Technical-indie
Four piece indie mob Pharaohs mix up the kind of technical guitars you might expect to hear from metal bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan but here there isn’t even a hint of heavy, these are jangly indie tunes with complex guitars, catchy melodies and great vocals in the same ball park as bands like Foals, but Pharaohs are far less pretentious and actually seem to be enjoying themselves rather than posing which is nice to hear. ‘Squashed Against My Wall’ is a great tune, bouncy and danceable with a rousing sing along chorus, ‘Richard Grip’ has more of those complicated guitars and is slightly more quirky with an off kilter rhythm (more in the vein of Minus The Bear) but no less immediate and likeable.
