Distorted pop

‘Little Spark’ is dark fuzzy pop-rock, almost suggestive because of the whispered, vocal delivery, giving the track a lightly unnerving edge. Drenched in distortion, but with jangles and hand claps and a pretty catchy melody (with riffs that are reminiscent of P.J. Harvey) you get the best of both worlds. ‘Dark Candy’ is in a similar vein; so whispery are the vocals that you can barely understand them, you really have to strain, the far louder, doom laden guitars glower over the top nicely. An interesting and atmospheric single; accessible enough to get air play but dark and subversive enough not to be a one hit wonder in the making.
