'No Sense and No Feeling’ (songs from Jan’08 to Sep 09) by Scholars has five songs and each has a mix of indie and rock components making it an intriguing listen.

The CDs initial track ‘Wreck’ opens with a little chant and closes very softly showing the lads softer side, but there is a darker part hidden in this tune that surfaces its face for only a minute. Likewise, ‘Recovery Monday’ sounds tougher at some points. Then there is ‘Burgundy’, a punchy number where vocals are inclined towards an in tune shout more than a sing; however this works effectively within the song. ‘Tornadoes’ is musically less punchy and more bouncy with the synths that are in there. What you’ll find is that with each track the harmonies become more and more distinctive, growing and becoming more successful in their presentation of the song. The fifth and final track ‘Jumping the Barrier’ shows the bands harmonies on top form.

These four friends have a raw talent that is being put into something creative and has the potential to do very well. If they continue on this path, it is just a matter of time before Scholars make it big.
