Canadian rockers make a brilliant record

Ramona originally started out as a creative outlet for the works of Dave Fritz and later with the other members attached to the band, a focus of putting material to CD emerged. The result is the release "Mornington Crescent Now Open".

These Canadian rockers have made a sensational six-track release that combine melodies that are poppy and punkish with some alternative moments. Having been inspired by classic 60's mod records, the band has created a melodic style reminiscent of Bowling for Soup and Wheatus to an extent with the bands own infectious attitude and enthusiastic manor stirred in for good measure.

The lead singer has some very emotive vocals. It is through the more acoustic number 'Hanging on the Words', that the bands harmonising nature develops and really stuns with how well together they can be. It is with this number the lyrics are most notable. Through these bouncy rhythms and addictive lyrics all of which are easy on the ears and incredibly simplistic to move along to, Ramona has made a release worthy of a listen.
