The music of the Eighties continues to inspire three decades on

Did you ever wonder what the music of the 1980s would sound like if it were still going strong today? Wonder no more, because Archie Bronson Outfit are taking us back in time with their latest single. Following on from 'Shark's Tooth' and 'Hoola', 'Chunk' is the latest track from the band's 2010 album 'Coconut' to assume independence and enter the singles market.

Nothing here has been overcomplicated and the simplistic approach works to the band's advantage. There are some nice guitar intricacies that settle pleasingly alongside the basic bass and drum patterns. The quirky lyricism of lines such as "lose all the thoughts that you thunk[sic]" are wonderfully eccentric and contribute strongly to the appeal of the diverse English trio.

Should you be missing the days where Talking Heads were pumping on your stereo, then put 'Chunk' on and you can party like it's the Eighties all over again. Add a Rubik's cube and a game of Pac-Man for good measure and you'll be sorted!
