Modelling how it should be done...
London four piece Model Society has spent the better part of 2010 travelling the length of the UK and more playing gigs wherever they possibly could, including supporting Mark Morris (Bluetones) and headlining at Club Fandango. They have however had time to record this debut single 'Follow Your Dreams'.
The band consists of vocalist Danny Clare, guitarist Stephen Kelly, drummer Sammy Wilko and bassist McCready and their collective effort and hard work has created an indie/electro number that draws influences from a range of sources including New Order and Bloc Party. The track instantly draws your ear with the kick-start of drumming and melodic guitars before Danny's vocals snap into play. With a characteristically British sound formed and with the catchy chorus being quite memorable, Model Society certainly put their stamp on the industry with this single. The accompanying second track is similar in style but unfortunately not as catchy as the single.
The band will be playing two London dates in the New Year and will surely have some more scheduled soon.
