Stunning Debut

Once in a while you stumble across an artist you have never heard of before and they just blow you away. This could be a support band at a live show or, in today's case, a debut EP that lands on your desk to be reviewed. So, let us introduce you to Charlotte Eriksson, a dead cert to be a future "the next big thing".

Charlotte Eriksson, who is originally from Sweden but now residing in London, has basically put together five tracks that are each beautiful in their own right. Each track has a different feel and mood. Each tells a story that illuminates Miss Eriksson's lyric writing skills, from the hard edged 'Play Pretend' to the playful 'Creepy Little Story'.

The lyrics are only half the story, Charlotte Eriksson does not hold back with the vocals, combining power, despair and sensuality, yet always perfectly suiting the ambience of the track.

As many aspiring artists have to, "The Glass Child" was produced by the artist herself. While Charlotte Eriksson claims not to be a producer, we beg to differ. The double layering of the vocals have been put together so well it is what you would expect from Butch Vig.

You will be extremely hard pushed to find an EP that gives more than "The Glass Child", let alone a debut EP. If there is any justice in this world, Charlotte Eriksson's talents will be given the exposure they truly deserve.
