Cynic Guru – Catastrophe

Four-piece rock act Cynic Guru has spent the better part of a decade touring the world and signing to various labels across the globe, from Iceland to Japan. This year they head back to the UK to re-introduce themselves to the British market, and it all begins with this new pop rock single, 'Catastrophe'.

'Catastrophe' is packed with guitar hooks creating a moderately upbeat atmosphere. It has a darker element, which adds a touch of mystery. Lead singer and violinist Roland Hartwell (a Japanese/American violinist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra) creates a rounded and more fulfilled essence to the song with his use of strings. The accompanying track 'Secret' is like its predecessor, with slightly deeper vocals, with more aggression and becoming more persistent at times.

This a brilliant track to introduce the style of Cynic Guru to new music lovers as well as return to the ears of those already hooked.
