Ruins Of Earth - Misguided Lifeforms
Southern metallers must still have the critical acclaim of their debut EP ringing in their ears, and now their back with their sophomore release.
I'm not going to claim to know a lot about Ruins Of Earth, but being from around the same area, I know they have a reputation of putting on explosive live shows, and that they try to carry across that energy into their recordings, which is no small task.
'Funeral' opens this four track EP and it has a death metal feel to it; there's a nice throbbing bassline that really carries the track. Instrumental track 'The Wait' really highlights the bands musical talent, and is by far the stand out track on here.
"Misguided Lifeforms" is an interesting listen, these kids could go along way. However, the production on here is disappointing, it sounds kind of muted, which really doesn't do anything for their music.
