'Go Fun Yourself' with Super Happy Fun Club

After 15 years of friendship in Chicago, six ordinary blokes by the names of Stubhy (lead vocals), Brad (guitar/vocals), Phil (guitar), Pat (keyboards/vocals), Jeremy (bass) and Chris (drums) come together with their united passion for music and the result - Super Happy Fun Club - is spectacular!

The opener 'My Lie's a Mess (Yeah Yeah Yeah)' is an upbeat pulsating burst of guitar melodies, a strong lead vocal and even stronger united backing harmonies, almost like a chant of lyrics. It is one you can close you eyes to and be plagued by visions of a wild live crowd. The remaining seven tracks are equally as impressive and visionary. Integrating some passionate backing harmonies with the lead vocal to make something not only striking to hear but memorable and the band should certainly be praised for this effect as it is not often you come across a band that can pull this off with such strength. Musically everything is upbeat and incredibly bouncy, it really gives you a spring in your step and an uncontrollable need to move.

Considering "Go Fun Yourself" is the band's debut release, it is stunning how well they connect on a musical level. You may expect some growing pains, this being their first release but there are none to be detected. If one thing can be said for Super Happy Fun Club, is that they sure know how to make a catchy tune. There are times you want to get your feet tapping, other times you smile but more than anything want to sing along.

Somehow the cohesive backing vocals combined with the upbeat melodies that Super Happy Fun Club create, instantly put a smile on your face - the name says it all. The band heads out on tour with fellow Chicago band Madina Lake this November and I for one CAN'T WAIT!
