The Features - Everybodies Favourite New Band
The Kings of Leon's favourite new band!! Well that's what the press release says at least, and they have toured with the Kings of Leon! One thing is guaranteed is that this is a tub-thumping, up-tempo energetic rock. It seems to be strange, The Features have been around for ages and this is their debut album! The album can be compared to one of those fantastic rock albums released in the 60's, and I don't mean because the album with all fourteen tracks only lasts a sixties-style 32 minutes and 42 seconds.
The up-tempo beats and the guitar work drive this album against the vocals of Matt Pelham, who brings a great deal of emotion to the album. While the deep synths from Parrish Yaw, are a strong feature on the album, that make it ever so subtle. One thing that you notice on the album is that the band slam from track to track. It is easy to blink and miss a track.
This album is a great mixture of rock and up-temp blues, very much in the mould of Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand. Ok there maybe other bands that are better than The Features, but this is a band that is having a great deal of fun making music.
