A Bad Thing in producing this single

Do Me Bad Things serve up a huge slice of disco funk style with 60's sounds shot through it- especially in the delivery of the chorus. It works, but only just, literally just. There's too many things going on musically for you to tie on to and relate with; between the main and backing vocals, guitars and 'whooos' it becomes both a confusing and boring listen. Though this defiance of 'pigeon holeing' may be essentially at the heart of the band, they’re achieving their goal of not being labelled, unless you count 'Vacuous' with a capital 'V'. If it works for you then great, but this number doesn't have enough body, cohesion or class to provide presence, and when coupled with lyrics that make no actual sense...well you can see where this is going.
