New single slows down the Brakes. Under-par release from a band with better stuff lurking about.

Slide guitar and sickeningly sweet vocals, 'Over and Over' is the new single from Turin Brakes, the acoustic duet responsible for lush, swinging, swelling and swooping music. There's a pop-bop to 'Over and Over' that drives the song along and makes sure it gets into your head. It's a fairly good song, but not the best on the album it is promoting, 'JackInABox' released earlier this year.

They happened to hit it on the head with 'Underdog' and since then Turin Brakes have released consistently well-built numbers that utilise a formula known to be infallible, 'Over and Over' croons along, rolling out the bumps and slides and pokes with experienced professionalism. It's a short song, surprising you with it's ending, could do with another chorus to make sure of its staying power. A good song, but not the perfect single, want to hear stronger Turin tunes?
