Blissfully Chilled

Husky Rescue brings to mind the kind of hazy, melancholic summer days that require you to laze in the sunshine. 'City Lights' is a delightfully restful chill out song. This single certainly won't find its way onto any best of 05 compilations for the relaxed atmosphere certainly doesn't lend itself to that kind of scene. Husky Rescue are no Razorlight or Kasabian- their latest single doesn't contain that vital secret ingredient to allow it to stick in your mind all day, but there's something ghostly about the eerie bliss found throughout this track. With smooth vocal work from Reeta-Leena Korhola it would seem that Marko Nyberg (the driving force behind this mysterious group) has achieved what he wanted when he said that he'd try to create music that felt like somebody was holding you in their arms.

Also included on the single are a couple of remixes- not as painful as you'd imagine and then the final thrilling track- 'Last Dance'. With vocals supplied by Sofia Chaichee, this is another smooth, deliciously relaxing track that swags with a groove that should be heard more often. Husky Rescue are doing their own thing and they're doing it well.

'City Lights' is truly comforting- melancholy, yet somehow uplifting and relaxing at the same time. Hypnotic, those electronic beats that dip in and out of hearing like waves against a beach soothe and caress your body and soul in a way that is so rare in music these days.
