Shout Out Louds - Comeback

Every once in a while a song comes along that really gets under the skin, and the only way to cope with it is to put the CD on repeat until it drives you insane. Here comes a record that has INDY ANTHEM! Screaming out of the speakers.

This is a band you are likely to hear more of in the coming months. Swedish Indy pop favorites Shout Out Louds are bringing out their second single ‘The Come Back’ at the start of September, ahead of the release of their debut album ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’ and gigs including support slots with The Magic Numbers and a headline tour of their own before 2005 is out.

This catchy single has the vocal authority of Killers or Franz Ferdinand, the retro, electronic funkiness of Bravery, and a quirky keyboard hook that Grandaddy have made their art form for many years. If all those bands were put into an alternative rock blender, the end product would be something along the lines of the noise ‘Shout Out Louds’ create. Nothing flashy about it but often the simple but effective approach is the one that gains the most love.

Tipped for big things in the next year expect to find them popping up at a toilet venue near you before too long. Listen to this record once and you’ll have it nestling in your brain, listen to it twice, three and four times and it gets better each time.
