Soothing Indie
The phrase, music to go to sleep to is meant in the nicest possible way, as this track is far from being boring. It is a beautifully mellow and dreamy single that has the invigorating soothing quality of black coffee after a massive night out. Made up of soft, acoustic verses building up into a catchy and uplifting chorus, it is clear from a single such as this why bands like Coldplay, Embrace and Flaming Lips would have used them as a support act over the past few years.
'Where Did Our Loving Go?' can be found on Alfie's fourth album, 'Crying at Teatime', which was released in August 2005. This single is out on October 10th and is released on a series of three limited addition 7" singles, each with a different new track for the B-side.
If this track doesn't hit the spot straight away, it won't be long before it gets right under the skin, as it is a wonderful piece of mellow Indie pop. This track would make for a great hangover record with festival regulars being especially grateful for this on a Sunday afternoon, or the one you might choose to listen to after a rubbish day at work.
