Girlschool - Emergency

When Girlschool came along in 1978 they entered the male dominated world of heavy metal. Their latest single "Emergency" celebrates the 25th anniversary of their album of the same name and to coincide with their tour supporting Motorhead. This is a double A side release with the classic track "London"

Emergency a strong song that seems to follow in the footsteps of Judas Priest. It opens with police sirens, but killer guitar riffs and power chords follow, with pounding drum and catchy lyrics, a definite hit with people of all ages. This song sees Kelly Johnson and Kim McAuliffe alternating between lead vocal and guitar.

The second single London is another classic but not as strong as Emergency, but is still well worth the listen, to hear the girls rocking out and showing why they've been so successful over the years.

It's a shame Girlschool decided to release this on download only as I feel they could have got a lot of airplay with these tracks as well as chart success.
