SPINTO DIRECTLY TO MY HELMET

So, this is the debut single (proper, explained below) from Spinto. Hmm interesting. It's not without it's charm. In fact I rather like its dreamy, trippy quality. It evokes memories of 80's George Harrison when he was seemingly glued to Jeff Lynn. It also reminds me of a band whose name I can't remember, the band who did that song about blue canary in the outlet by the light switch, only on mogadon.

As ever it's hard to judge a band on just one song. I'm intrigued enough to want to listen to a few more from the album, just to see what this bunch of mid-westerners come with.

That album "Nice and Nicely Done" follows on from the 7" single 'Mountains'/'Brown Boxes'- that they put out to test the water. Not heard that either. Not getting out much at the moment!

All in all it's a haunter, you find yourself poking the play button on the CD player without realising it, putting it on repeat and slipping into a coma.
They Might Be Giants! I knew I'd remember that band eventually!
