'Crosses' is the follow-up to the single 'Heartbeats', the song that propelled Jose Gonzalez to overnight success, which he's since confirmed with his gold-selling album 'Veneer', that's seen itself firmly rooted in the Top Ten for over a month.
'Crosses' is a serene affair, a calm and collected acoustic piece with a retrograde feel to the vocal, which lulls you into a soft and floaty trance-like state; the interchanging dynamics of the song, however, keep you in tune and awake. Its B-side 'Storm' is similar in set-up but with a slightly darkened edge to it, a nice and full sounding song that's perfect for candle-light or a long-winded zoom-out at the end of a quiet film.
