Heresy - Face Up To It

Heresy is seen as one of the most influential hardcore punk bands to have ever come out of the UK and 'Face Up to It' was their solitary full length release. This reissue of the album has been remastered and restored to give the tracks a cleaner and more modern sound and so bring their music to a new generation.

The problem is though that listening through this album there's nothing really on show to demonstrate why a new audience needs to be subjected to it.
Generally there is the obvious punk tradition from the classic era of the Sex Pistols but they lack their snotty in your face attitude and there doesn't really seem to be much of a message going on. Punk is about anarchy with a purpose, this is just anarchy to make as much noise as possible.

The mind blowing pace of delivery does make you sit up and take notice of what's going on, mainly because it's so unbelievable to understand how they can keep up the pace. Aside of that this is not something that moves me, well it does but only towards the off switch. Fans of punk should check it out but punk connoisseurs will note that it really isn't the best example of the genre. Definitely not something for the fainthearted and it will seem to most people to be unintelligible noise.
